Version 2026-04-15
CareContinuum (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides tools to support your obesity care journey. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our mobile application and related services (the “Services”).
By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Account information: We use Firebase Authentication. You sign in with an email address and password (or similar methods we enable). You may choose a username; you are not required to provide your legal name for display purposes.
Self-reported and health-related information: Information you enter—such as weight, medications, side effects, reminders, documents you upload, and similar data—is stored to provide the Services to you.
Technical data: We may process device identifiers, app diagnostics, and security-related logs as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Services.
We use information to create and maintain your account, provide app features (including reminders and insights), secure the Services, comply with law, and improve reliability and user experience.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising in this app unless we notify you separately and obtain consent where required.
CareContinuum does not track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising. Your email address, when used, is for sign-in and account security (such as verification), not for linking your activity across third-party apps for ad targeting.
Data you enter or upload is stored in your account using Google Firebase: typically Firestore databases for structured records (health metrics, medications, community reports, AI insight history, etc.), Firebase Authentication for sign-in, and Firebase Storage for files such as document and image uploads. Metadata and security logs may also be processed on Google Cloud.
Data may be processed and stored in Google Cloud regions as configured for our project. Where applicable, our organization maintains administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards consistent with our compliance program.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. Use a strong password and enable email verification when offered.
Certain features send a text prompt (and, when you use image-based analysis, image data you have stored in the app) to Google’s Gemini generative AI service. Transmission occurs through our Firebase Cloud Function so your request is authenticated; we do not place your email address or real name inside the prompt text sent to Gemini. The content may still include health-related information you chose to log or upload.
Before each analysis, the app shows you what categories of data may be included and asks for your explicit agreement to send that information to the AI service. If you do not agree, that analysis will not run.
Google processes data in accordance with Google’s terms and policies for Google Cloud and Gemini. AI output is informational only, may be wrong or incomplete, and is not a substitute for care from your clinician.
We retain information as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may depend on your region and our legal requirements.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your request.
Account deletion: You can permanently delete your account from the app (Settings → Delete account). You will be asked to enter your password to confirm. Deletion removes your Firebase Auth account and deletes app data we store for your user ID in our databases and your files under your Storage folder, subject to technical limits and legal retention requirements.
You may stop using the Services at any time. Some information may be retained as required by law after account deletion.
The Services are not intended for children under the age where parental consent is required in your jurisdiction. Do not use the Services if you do not meet the minimum age.
If you access the Services from outside the country where our systems are hosted, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and may require you to acknowledge material changes in the app. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires a different process.
